Samsung Refrigerators Subject to Hundreds of Consumer Complaints - Top Class Actions

More than 600 consumer complaints about Samsung refrigerators have been reported to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) between January 2019 and December 2021, according to Consumer Reports.

The Samsung refrigerator complaints include reports of malfunctioning ice makers and failure to maintain appropriate temperatures.

Consumer Reports notes that 211 consumer complaints cited food spoilage and 62 complaints reported food poisoning.

Samsung reportedly received more complaints during this time frame than any other manufacturers based on publicly available data posted on the SaferProducts.gov database.

“The sudden increase in reports must have a cause completely independent from the quality of our products,” Samsung told Consumer Reports. “This is clearly shown in the data you provided (referencing the SaferProducts.gov complaints), which reflects dozens of models manufactured across an entire decade simultaneously and inexplicably developing problems starting in 2020.”

Consumer Reports tests more than 20 fridge brands and recommends six Samsung refrigerators (three top-freezer models and three side-by-side models). However, Consumer Reports says that it does not recommend Samsung refrigerators with French doors due to unfavorable reliability ratings based on its most recent member survey data.

Testing by Consumer Reports is only performed on new products that are purchased directly from retailers. The new Samsung refrigerators tested by Consumer Reports reportedly received Very Good or Excellent ratings based on their temperature-related performance.

Consumer Reports says it also conducts annual member surveys about consumers’ experiences with refrigerators that they purchased within the past decade.

“We use this data to calculate predicted reliability and owner satisfaction ratings for refrigerators, as well as to identify problem areas with these appliances,” Consumer Reports explained.

Results from the member survey data showed that Samsung French-door refrigerators, side-by-side models and bottom-freezer models had owner satisfaction ratings of Fair to Poor.

A Facebook group called Samsung Refrigerator Recall U.S.A. now has more than 100,000 members, according to Consumer Reports. 

“Everybody thought that [their refrigerator] was [Samsung’s] only lemon, and then we started putting all these puzzles together,” Tom O’Shea, the Facebook group’s administrator, told Consumer Reports. He says the Facebook group encourages owners of Samsung refrigerators to keep pursuing service claims and seeking compensation.

Samsung is facing a refrigerator defect class action lawsuit over issues with the external ice dispenser on models with French doors, including allegations that the ice dispensers leak, produce slush and create excessive fan noise.

Another Samsung class action lawsuit alleges that the company’s “fingerprint-resistant” coating on some of its kitchen appliances peels off, leaving an “unsightly patchwork” of regular stainless steel and the black coating that has not peeled off yet.

I purchased new Samsung RF260BEAESR/AA in Sept 2016 from BestBuy. It has ice maker but since our family doesn’t use ice in our drinks, I specifically never hooked up the ice maker (no water line installed ever). This is a 2 adult household (no kids). Everything worked fine until about a month ago when water started leaking from bottom and we noticed some ice on back wall of refrigerator section. Temp in fridge set to 34degrees but food ( particularly drinks) did not seem as cold as usual. Turned temp down to 37 degrees in fridge and that helped for about 2 weeks. Then noticed a lot more ice on back interior wall of fridge. Freezer still keeping food frozen. Unplugged the fridge and removed all food from fridge. Used hair dryer to cautiously melt the ice and then left fridge open at room temp to defrost what we couldn’t see. After 6 hours plugged appliance back in and waited about 24 hours until fridge would finally hold temp at 38 degrees. It was not a smooth process. Fridge would stop cooling periodically and then we would reset temp and it would start cooling again. That was 5 days ago and ice is slowly continuing to build. I have started looking at new fridge since I am a senior citizen and cannot afford to TRY to fix a problem that Samsung has not found a solution for. The temp says 38 degrees but the food we have in there is not maintaining at that temp

Bought French door fridge/freezer from Lowes in 2018, and have had nothing but problems. The freezer bucket is frozen to the shelf; the ice maker leaks water into my kitchen floor; the fridge/freezer doesn’t regulate temperature well and has spoiled food because of it. Very unhappy with this purchase. Customer service says all repairs will be out of pocket. Will never buy Samsung again.

Samsung side by side bought in 2017 from HDepot. Nothing but problems, loud humming and cracking which leads up to freezing of either side and evaporator coil completely freezes. Have spent more than $600 on repairs and every appliance repair person tells me manufacturer default in the design. Ice forms under the crisper drawer and water leaks out onto floor. Count me in if there is a class action settlement for repairs or fixes the unit so I don’t have to keep fixing. As of right now I will never purchase a Samsung refrigerator again.

I bought a Samsung with French doors two years ago, had problems with ice maker freezing up. Someone came out less than a year after my purchase and fixed it. Still working. Two weeks age my freezer defrosted and everything was bad, I put in a claim for repair on my extended warranty and 10 days later I am still waiting for some kind of answer on what they are going to do.(replace or fix).

Have a 2015 Samsung French Door ice in door we bought”new” from best buy in 2018. Love it and had worked well til lately. Ice maker frosting up. Called Samsung. Told to press the reset button. Worked a few days then back to its old tricks. Called a local appliance dealer for service. Came out and said Samsungs are junk. No fix for the frosting up ice maker. Charged$79 for the advice. My daughter had 2009 Samsung side by side. Compressor failure in 5 years. Have two Samsung top freezers in my business. No problem with them … yet.

The last repairman said that samsung had had 5 supposed fixes but none worked.We have used an old refrigerator in the garage for ice and any foods that need to stay at a safe temperature. Yes the coating for stainless steel wears off.I will never buy anything samsung for appliances ever again

We have the side by side Samsung. It makes a loud noise and then my husband unplugs it to let the ice melt. Then we have to clean it up. We purchased it from Home Depot. I just found out that others were having these problems.

We bought a Samsung Refrigerator, model # RF263BEAESG/AA November 8, 2017. It was delivered and installed November 14, 2017. We started having problems with the ice maker within a few months and started contacting Samsung for advice. We were given the runaround, like everybody else, and I finally was able to get a service repair person to come out and see what he could do to fix it. He said there’s nothing he can do because I used a hairdryer to melt the ice so the icemaker would work. Four years later and Samsung still hasn’t done anything to help nor admit product defects. Since this fiasco started, I have replaced the dishwasher and washer/dryer set and they weren’t products made by Samsung. I’m going to get back into calling Samsung on a regular basis and hopefully get some satisfatction.

Purchased Samsung model RF28HMEDBSR on December 14, 2018 through The Military Exchange Website. Approximately 3 weeks ago ice maker froze over and stopped making ice. Also Tempeture inside Refrigerator is unable to get any colder than 39-40F degrees. Had Our 1st Repair technician out yesterday ( 5/6/2022) they were unable to install the new icemaker ( main part) because it wouldn’t fit. We bought the Samsung Family HUB refrigerator (Model- RF22N9781SG/AA) on 12/25/2018. We have been having horrible issues with the ice maker for over a year now. The ice maker gets frozen solid and will stop making ice . We have spent so much time, for so long to resolve and fix this issue ourselves, with no luck and are fed up with the entire ordeal and just want a refund to buy a good functioning refrigerator! My sister bought a Samsung refrigerator and did not have it long and the icemaker caught on fire. Her daughter turned off the icemaker. There is a YouTube videos on how to get to the coils (hair dryer and lots of time) and there is a kit that keeps the drain tube from freezing. There is also a ton if ice covering the freezer coils, that makes the theromister there think it’s 35 degrees, so the frig is only 45 degrees. There is a not so expensive additional heat coil you can add. But removing the built up ice (2 hour job) to allow you to move that theromister to another location and not get a false sense of defrost before all the ice is gone. You can also use two or three “power defrost” from the door. That is in the video too ! But you need to fix the drain tube by a very expensive part.

The part of the door but when you close it it’s nuts and this little watch most of the time it doesn’t work it stays flat we have to push on it yourself to make it close. I the freezer is a joke too small to put anything in. I’m calling them again day to come look at it due to the Magnet strip that closes the door.

Ice maker freezes up constantly and you can not get ice. I e read it is a very common problem with the freezer in the bottom and I’ve maker in the top French doors. No repair man close on there list of authorized repair service. All these should be recalled and replaced with ice makers that work properly. Ice dispenses extremely slowly when it does work.

Ice maker freezes up and stops making ice and has to be thawed out once a week. Ice maker has been replaced once already. Water drips down inside of fridge and ice up under pull out drawer which makes it impossible to pull out.

There was a class action suit in which Samsung paid damages to other refrigerator owners, but my refrigerator was not included. I have a Samsung RS25J500DSG. Ice maker freezes over. Clogs up and when getting ice it will shoot out on different directions due to clogging from being frozen. Then at times it will leak, but mainly freezes over.

We bought a French Door Fridge in 2017 from Lowes. The ice maker (upper) leaked water and froze up. Had to defrost with a hair dryer. Ice cubes were never consistently shaped. The plastic dispenser/ice holder cracked and had to put water tight tape on it. Finally removed the darn thing and put an aluminum pan inside to catch ice. Still freezes up and dispenses ice at a snails pace. Still have to defrost with a hair dryer. Tried to clean the spills trapped under the large glass top on the vegi bins. The darn glass will not come off. Worst purchase ever!

I have had the Ice Maker replace once and it still doesn’t work all of the time. Sometimes it produces slush, others no ice. It also drips water when it does work. The fan can be excessively noisy.

The number of times I have had to use my hair dryer to undo the ice in the top of the fridge (never mind in the ice maker) is insane.

I own a Samsung French door refrigerator that I purchased in June 2020. I’ve had service come out 3 times because of the ice machine.

Our French door with ice maker in bottom freezer is so noisy it interferes with conversations. The bottom ice maker chews up the cubes into small pieces and continuously has large frozen lumps of ice. Repairman was unable to fix it and said he recommends to folks never include the ice maker when purchasing this thing. We are in a tiny home and this was the only refer that fit the space. Samsung is getting away with producing inferior products at high prices. Never will own anything of theirs again.

I have a Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker keep freezing up. It has been replaced, but the new one continues to freeze up. We were told by Samsung that they would replace the ice maker for the first time free of charge and anymore problems after that we would have to pay out of pocket. We now just turn the ice machine off for it to thaw out and then turn it back on or use the blow dryer to thaw it out. When getting ice from the ice maker water comes out first.

I have a 2 year old Samsung French Door fridge. This fridge is the biggest piece of crap ever! I have had to replace the door at a cost of $550.00 – all the inside plastic pieces have broken and had to be replaced – wheels on the veggie drawers broke, the seal on the door needs replacing now…this is used by adults only in a very careful manner and the entire thing is falling apart…..worst appliance I have ever purchased from Lowes.

We’ve had all of the issues mentioned in the article with our Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker stops working about twice/ month. My husband has to chip away the ice buildup with a hammer and chisel to get it working again. Ice builds up in the back panel of the refrigerator. This creates an extremely loud noise as the fan hits the ice. The solution? Empty the refrigerator, unplug it and defrost it over a couple of days! This has happened several times. My Samsung Refrigerator, Model # RF263BEAESG/AA. is defected. Right after I Purchased it I started having trouble with the icemaker and leaking water. I would like to be a part of the lawsuit.i

I’ve had my Samsung Refrigerator Since 2016 and have to get it serviced for the ice maker at least 2 times a year. I had a lot of out of pocket expenses, until I came across the Facebook page.

Bought 2 french foor door refrigerators one in 2020 and another 2021 both are set at 37 but there is no way it keeps the food that cold and was wondering why we been getting sick

Ours has had an ice maker that freezes up and black coating coming off and leaking. We blamed ourselves for not using enough ice.

We have had our 4 door Samsung Refrigerator since 2011. The ice maker stopped dropping ice. It leaks in the freezer drawer, in the the refrigerator drawer and under the fruit and vegetable drawers. The back of the refrigerator freezes. Any food near the back wall freezes. The freezer wasn’t coming up to temperature for a while and now it does again. It may be going back down again.

I have the French door model and the ice maker was a frozen mass no cubes. Called Samsung got the run around from many representatives who wanted me to pay for repair.Found the Facebook sight! Called again after finding it’s not a warranty issue it’s a defect! Got Samsung to replace the icemaker for free. That was 5 months ago. Finding that the temp on the outside says 34 but I bought some refrigerator thermostats and they register 44 Milk spoils it’s ridiculous

We have a Samsung refrigerator that the ice maker freezes up we have to turn off the ice maker and wait until it melts. Then we turn it back on and started the song and dance again and again . We have had work done on it got so tired of the repairs and no ice . Started buying ice in the store large bags…. knowing that we will not buy anything Samsung again .

My Samsung has been frozen over since shortly after purchase. They came out a few months ago and replaced ice maker and mother board. I Just realized why our food spoils so quickly. Cheese molds and produce goes bad! All this started when they did the repair. Traded one problem for another. Arghhhhh

Have a 9 year old Samsung fridge. We have had it serviced a couple times and also phone calls to reset the settings. Ice dispenser is always frozen over and have to dethaw it every few weeks to get the ice to work again. The back panel also freezes up and the fan stops working so again have to dethaw it completely. Recently had a technician out to replace the ice machine parts and he also replaced the motherboard in the back. He told me to dethaw the back panel again or risk having my food go bad or worse, getting food poisoning. It appears these appliances have had issues for years and given mine is an older model they don’t care, they just keep making them.

2019 refrigerator has had the ice maker replaced three times already and it is broken again. The refrigerator is set at 36 degrees and it stays around 48 degrees. Have wasted lots of food, been sick..left a BBB complaint and they offered me a pro-rated refund amount of $1700. This won’t even buy a new refrigerator. I have called multiple times and they tell me my ticket is updated and waiting for the consumer product manager. No correspondence. I can’t even buy groceries to fill my refrigerator because I’m scared it will just spoil. I just want a refund and money for my wasted food, time off work for food poisoning and can’t get anywhere. I am a member of the Facebook group which, is very informative and has assisted. I just wish they would comply as this is a defective item not a warranty issue.

I purchased a Samsung kitchen appliance package in 2016. 2 years later I had to call Samsung to fix my microwave. The tech told me it would cost $350 to repair. That would be a no, I went and bought a new microwave. The refrigerator..don’t get me started. I have water leakage from the ice house to below the crisper tray,and sometimes my ice maker works but often times not. These are not warranty issues,these are defects identified by Samsung in a technical service bulletin issued by Samsung on July17,2015 (TSB 2015) Do the right thing Samsung

My parents purchased a brand new house that came with a French door Samsung refridgerator. Not even 1yr later the ice maker stopped working and freezing over. It’s ridiculous.

For 2 years samsung has been doing a run around with me and their defective refrigerator, I have them record saying that I am entitled to a refund, but will not pay out

I called Samsung in March 2022 about my ice maker full of ice( not in the ice bucket). They paid for repair but then my bottom drawer ice maker broke – repair number 2. They paid to replace the bottom ice maker and when it didn’t work said I needed the mother board replaced( must have gotten a bad one on first repair). Third repair was to replace mother board. Now the refrigerator leaks out of the front of door ice dispenser. I asked for a full refund , had to argue with Samsung but finally received it after going through three weeks of repairs in March. My refrigerator was purchased in December 2020. Fifteen month old refrigerator that didn’t work the way that it should have.

We have a Samsung 4 door (french doors, flex drawer, and bottom freezer). Ice maker issues as many have experienced – freezing up, doesn’t dispense, defrost with hot water even replaced the unit…no change. Temperature in flex drawer not reliable, soft keys stopped showing light indicator for temperature. Food at rear of drawer freezes. Closer on the french doors occasionally does not engage and temperature in refrigerator increased causing loss of food. N ok w the freezer seems to have variations in temperature. This refrigerator is just too large for a door stop so I would like it to be delivered to the office of Samsung’s executives or better yet to their home because I doubt their spouse would put up with this giant waste of time and money…

Our Samsung French door refrigerator can’t keep steady temperatures and has suddenly began leaking, which ruined my wood floors. This was a known issue when I bought the unit, but Samsung sold it anyway. They should be responsible for damages! $14k to repair the floors, still waiting for Samsung to respond to the damaged caused.

Our Samsung French Door began ice jams about 6 months after purchase in Nov 2018. Not paying for costly “repairs” so we chisel the ice ourselves and hair dryer melts ice jam. Ridiculous piece of junk

My Samsung French door refrigerator started to have problems making ice after a year. The ice would all stick together and not fall down creating a jam. Tried calling Samsung but since it was not under warranty I would have to pay A hefty fee for them to come and take a look. From listening to other peoples comments it seems like that would be a waste of money As often after the repair the problem comes back Rather quickly. After getting sick of breaking up the ice all the time I just Disconnected the water and I buy bag ice every week. Ridiculous it’s not a lemon it’s just a known manufacturing engineering defect. Pretty crazy they haven’t fixed this thing yet with models after 2016. I also occasionally get pooling of water underneath the bottom drawer. Issue comes and goes. Seems to originate above the drawer as sometimes water comes into the drawer from the top.

Purchased Samsung French Door refrigerator in November 2019 after we were assured the ice maker issue had been fixed. This was not true!! Our first problem was the housing around the water filter developed a crack, which lead to water leaking(running) out of the refrigerator in March of 2021. We thought we had the problem resolved, but happened again. The ice maker and water filter housing were replaced, and this repair lasted about 6 months. Then the ice maker started freezing over. Samsung couldn’t find someone to repair the ice maker so we were offered a pro-rated amount from our purchase date. We accepted this offer, and we didn’t pursue further because it takes so much time and energy to do this. I do not recommend Samsung appliances to anyone! Actually, I don’t recommend Samsung anything because customer service is difficult to navigate! We never reported this to any consumer groups or other agencies, just to Samsung.

I have a Samsung French door with bottom freezer and tablet on the door. We have had problems with the ice maker since about 2019. We still have the refrigerator but cannot use the ice maker. It freezes over solid just about every 3 weeks. I have even cracked the ice bin trying to get it out from it freezing over. I joined the Facebook page with Tom O’Shea. I got a refund from Samsung for about half of what I paid for the refrigerator. I was hesitant to get the ice maker fixed because of the problems people were having with the refrigerator keeping temp after the attempted fix that never worked anyway! I got talked way down on the refund and then in the end they gave me less than agreed on. What a joke! So far the temp hasn’t been a problem but I’m just counting the days for it to start! VERY UNHAPPY WITH SAMSUNG!

I have a Samsung French door. The ice maker has never worked right. I started having to blow dry all the ice build up at least twice a week. You tube video told me about that. The ice maker stop working all together. The freezer builds up ice too. so I had to buy a deep freezer to put food in. I paid $1700 for this frig. Can’t afford to buy a new one. This sucks so bad

The WORST appliance I have ever owned!!! Many service calls, replaced ice maker many times. After that the temp is all wacky, going up to 50+. The technicians tell us “never buy a Samsung “… lol. Too late. Would love to join this class action suit. Have had to throw out food way too many times.

Ice maker freezes up, temperature lights flash, needs to be reset way too often, electronic panel on right front door gives us so much trouble. This fridge is a PITA! I would NEVER buy another Samsung product (fridge, microwave, wall oven and TV’s included) again. I’m done with Samsung. What a waste of hard earned money. My Samsung refrigerator doesn’t hold temp. I have thrown away plenty of food. I had to reset it time and time again, reset instructions doesn’t always work. It is not worth continuing purchasing food, plus risk getting sick. You get tried of dealing with the big headaches 😩 😪 😫.

Food poisoning that put me in the hospital. Found out the temperature in the refrigerator can swing 10 degrees at night and go up to 44 degrees. I have it set on 34 degrees. The ice maker frozen up the first week we bought it!

Dishwasher stops draining water depending on the temperature outside. French door refrigerator- what a mess. Months trying to get Samsung to fix the cooling unit. We ended up paying out of pocket. “Out of warranty” or “not a covered entity”. Filed with Better business bureau, Pennsylvania and NJ STATE attorney General offices with no resolution. The fridge was not packaged correctly, leaving small dents.

Awful refrigerator. Ice maker has been replaced, and doesn’t work. The only ice it makes is in the back where the refrigerator condenser coil freezes up and the ice that grows only to block off the use of the icemaker all together. I’ve lost food twice but I spent too much on this to want to get rid of it.

I finally Was able to remodel my kitchen and I bought all new appliances so proud of them my only mistake is buying Samsung my dishwasher broke within a year my microwave broke in three months and I refrigerator broke 3 years later And my stove is starting to go out. Supposedly a supervisor name Peter and a woman named Beverly have promised me back in February but they were working on my ticket to settle she told me that a couple of days ago again Peter back in February asked me for 24 to 48 hours and I have to stoop to hear from him. Samsung is full of lies you’re full of propaganda telling you stories and they care Nothing about their customers.

My wife and I was very excited to own a Samsung refrigerator with a brand new construction home. After a few year we noticed the refrigerator wasn’t cooling . It wasn’t holding temperature and we had to throw away all our food. We called Samsung and they sent out a tech to replace the Evaporator sensor. We paid over $300 for this service. They came out 2 time cause it was still freezing up. Then 1 years later the problem came back again . They wanted to charge us again over $300 to replace the sensor. We told them we are not paying ever year for a new Sensor that’s just Ridiculous. It’s working for now. We are just waiting until the cooler break down again.

Bought all Samsung appliances in 2015. Dishwasher didn’t last 6 months – after the 3rd service call it leaked water all over our hard wood floor. Fought that & did receive a refund. French door refrigerator- same issues as others have stated & we are on our 3rd ice maker. Back panel & fan froze & it doesn’t maintain temps after having that repaired. Microwave started up on its own – fire hazard. Would have had to pay as much for the repair so replaced it. I will never buy another Samsung anything – their customer service people are trained to lie

My 2014 Ref has to be defrosted monthly. I’ve learned to just turn it off after it’s dose it’s job of making a few buckets of ice (which I put in ziplock bag in the freezer). I have to force defrost it FD mode. Takes hours. And I do. It monthly. Samsung wanted to charge me a service call in addition to parts. I refused. I tried calling at a later date with no success… during that time I was Caring for my husband who ended up passing away from cancer. I really couldn’t allow myself To let this cause me extra stress. That was over 6yrs ago & I’m still living with this Garbage refrigerator.. Samsung just did nothing to right this wrong even though they knew there was a product defect and bulletin out to repair technicians about this Defective piece of garbage. They should be held accountable for selling such a terrible product. I’m afraid to Pursue this anymore because many ppl did and same problem or add’l problems where created. They made it clear I’d be charged for the service & I was not going to. !!!

I bought my Samsung In 2018, the ice maker has had problems since the day I bought it. I have had it replaced twice now and it still does not work properly even after the replacements. It freezes up, water leaks out the door of the fridge, and there is always slushy ice in the ice bucket. Then it freezes and becomes one solid piece. I have to clean out my ice maker at least once or twice a week. Worst purchase I have ever made. They are very poorly made.

I bought my Samsung French door, freezer on the bottom in 2017 from LOWES and my ice maker freezes up all the time. My ice cubes are always crushed if it works. I’ve had to unfreeze the ice maker several times, it causes water in the vegetable bins. Ive lost hundreds of dollars of spoiled food! In April 2016, we purchase a 4-piece Samsung appliance set: French Door refrigerator with ice maker in the refrigerated section, range, dishwasher and microwave. We started having issues with the ice maker freezing up, making screeching sounds, ice cubes not fully frozen, water dripping out of ice maker dispenser when dispensing ice. Our home warranty company came out to try to fix it at least 3 times, replacing every part of the ice maker system 3 times. Recently, their appliance tech said it was not repairable. We called the home warranty company and they refused to try to repair it any further. They refused to replace it, because of the known problems with Samsung French door refrigerators. I then contacted Samsung USA via their chat option. They agreed to sent an authorized Samsung repair person to our house to fix the ice maker for free. All the parts were sent to our house in advance so that the repair person would be ready to fix it once and for all. Each repair person has said Samsung French door frigs are unrepairable. The tech Samsung sent out said he thought his repair would be our final repair and that he has repaired hundreds of them. A month after his repair, the ice maker froze upon again and started that making that horrible screeching sound. The screeching would not stop for 2 days even after we turned the ice maker off. I called the repair company to see if the tech would come out again and was told he would come back but only if we paid for another visit. I then “chatted” with Samsung again. They said I needed to register another complaint for then to open a new ticket but that I would have to pay for the service call and another other parts needed. We defrosted the freezer again and did not turn on the ice maker on for a week. Turned it back on. Within a few days, screeching and no ice. We have been buying ice every week for the past few years. When you purchase an expensive appliance such as a refrigerator, you expect it all features to work. It is implied in the warranty. This refrigerator is poorly designed and Samsung continues to sell these malfunctioning refrigerators year after year in big box stores like Lowe’s, Home Depot and even Costco. I wish one of more of these lawsuits and class action suits would be successful in getting Samsung to stop selling these defective refrigerators and refund our hard earned money for these pieces of junk. As far as the other three appliances we purchase in 2016, we have had 2 repairs through our home warranty on the range: one burner would only work on the very hottest temperature and the upper heating element did not function properly making it very difficult to bake or roast anything. The microwave outer casing is not strong enough to support the weight of the other components. It is installed hanging from the cabinets above it. Because the outer casing is not strong enough, the top edge has buckled. It now tips forward and the door swings downward at an angle. So far the dishwasher has worked properly. Ultimately, I would never buy another Samsung appliance. I’ve been a real estate agent for 25 years. Since 2016, I advise my clients to buy GE, Whirlpool or Bosch appliances as recommended by the many techs I have dealt with since owning Samsung appliances.

I bought a french door Samsung with the extra drawer in 2017 and installed it in 2018. Started having issues with ice maker after 6 months and temperatures started to fluctuate after one year. Food was molding and got food poisoning twice. Joined the Facebook group and learned a lot and contacted Samsung for repair. Had it serviced through Samsung in July of 2021. They replaced the mother board, ice maker and the back of the fridge has a rust spot the size of orange. They recommend I put a piece of insulation over the rust spot. The Ice maker is currently starting to freeze up again.

I bought a 4 door Chef Collection Samsung refrigerator in July 2015, spending $4500. Within 4 months the ice maker began to freeze up every 2weeks. I had the ice maker replaced twice with the same problems recurring immediately. With nothing but discouraging words from local repair companies, I have suffered with no ice for all these years. I have not had as many problems as some I have read about, but having been told by repair and Samsung that there is no remedy because of out of warranty claims, I have given up. Co-workers with Samsung appliances have the same issues but remain silent because it is too hard to overcome the brick wall of no customer support. Of course, none of us will ever buy Samsung again. I predict that there are countless like me who have not pushed back or joined the class action because we have lives to live and cut our losses, not to be burned again.

My Samsung side by side was purchased about 6 years ago and has been nothing but problems. I purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator in 2018. After about 6 months the ice maker started to freeze up and I had to start thawing it out on a monthly basis. They came out once and replace the ice maker and 3 months after the replacement it started doing the same thing. It’s ridiculous that there are so many people with the same issue and they continue to sell these knowing full well that this defective design flaw!

Bought our French Door Bottom drawer freezer in 2014. We have had nothing but problems with the ice maker since day one., It freezes up next to the bin where the ice is supposed to be. It also drips water when getting ice from the ice maker. We went online and found the defective part and replaced it but the new one does the exact same thing. this has been going on far too long. Samsung has to do something to remedy this.

I bought my Samsung French door back in 2018. The ice machine freezes over and gets Jammed up. The interior temp is off. It changes on it’s own . I bought the 5 yr warranty from Home Depot. I’ve had them come fix it 4 times now. Even had to chang the mother board. I’m requesting my money back now from them. Lemon law. The last repair man said they will not come out any more to work on it. Hopefully I get my money back I still have another year left on my warranty.

My French Door, bottom freezer refrigerator had issues with the top ice maker freezing. Had to thaw at least once a week. After seeing the post on the FB page I contacted Samsung and they replaced it, along with a couple of the computer boards. It now does not hold temperature, and the bottom ice maker no longer produces ice. I have to empty the upper ice bin as it fills up. The ice has already melted enough to stick together by the time he bin is full. Cold cuts and vegetables go bad right away, and I am lucky to get a gallon of milk to last to the expiration date even though I keep it stored next to the ice maker, which should be the coldest spot in the refrigerator.

The icemaker in my Samsung French door refrigerator hasn’t worked in more than 2 years and cannot get Samsung to do anything as it is “out of warranty “ even though the problems started while it was still in warranty. The extended warranty from Lowes which we purchased is a joke. Can’t ever get any answer to repeated phone calls or website inquiries.

Our Samsung, purchased in 2014, has always had issues with the ice maker. We had Samsung repair out several times during the warranty period and the ice maker was even replaced during this time. The repair person admitted it was a poor design issue. It still leaks and we are constantly having to deal with thawing it out. Definitely won’t buy another one!

Samsung French door refrigerator lasted two years before it wasn’t cooling properly and kept icing up in the coils every three months even though I didn’t hook up ice maker. I had to defrost coils myself it’s a big hassle. It finally stopped cooling I replaced refrigerator after two and half years.

I purchased my Samsung in April 2015, and within 45 days, the ice maker started giving me issues. You can’t get cubed ice even when selecting it; it’s ALWAYS crushed. The inside unit freezes up, and it has to be removed, emptied, dried, and replaced for it to start making ice all over again. The ice-maker HAS been replaced once, and I’ve attempted to get someone out here within this past year, but they want to charge me $575 just to come look at it. When you pay over $3,000 for an appliance, you expect it to work properly for at LEAST 5 years. This piece of junk hasn’t worked right from day one. I’ve asked for a free service call, even a refund as FB suggested, and Samsung is BEYOND rude and nasty. I own 2 Samsung TV’s and even a Samsung phone, but based on THIS experience, I’ll NEVER own another Samsung product.

I purchased my Samsung refrigerator from Lowes about 6 years ago. We had several repairs of the ice maker done during the warranty period. Honestly tired of having to take time off work for a repairman to come out and fix the issue we gave up thinking it was a lemon. I came across the Facebook site and realized that this is clearly a manufacturers defect that the company has not taken responsibility for despite the number of consumer complaints. You have to spend hours on the phone to Eve get through to a rep to request the warranty company come out. Warranty was worthless. So disappointed in this company and of course my icemaket that doesn’t function. I know have to buy bags of ice.

We purchased our Samsung side by side in 2002, when we built a new home. Luckily we purchased a 7 year warranty. But within a few months the ice maker failed. When the repairman came, without looking at the unit, he brought in a new ice maker, stating these are junk. After that it was replaced every year for the 7 years that we lived there.

I refuse to call a service company after reading of so many consumers paying hundreds of dollars for a repair that didn’t work. I do hope that Samsung is forced to recall their french door models.

I have had problems with ice maker freezing up and frost all over ice cubes when I get some.. I’ve had geek squad and other repair people they sent out under warranty and extended warranty and still no fix. They cannot fix their refrigerator is junk and everyone should be able to get a refund but Samsung keeps getting away with this and we are stuck with this refrigerator and even temps in refrigerator not right. I wish someone would make Samsung pay us consumers back. Why are they still selling these models at stores I’ve seen them.

We bought our Samsung in 2018. Within a few months it stopped making ice. We pulled out the ice bin to find ice built up all inside the freezer compartment. We had to run a defrost cycle to get the ice melted. That gets old really fast when you need to do it about once a month. We turned off the ice maker thinking that would keep the ice from building up, and at least we could use the water dispenser, but there was no change. We finally had to completely disconnect the water line from the fridge. A brand new refrigerator, and we had to go out and buy bagged ice.

We did think it was probably just us until we started reading stories and seeing pictures and videos that were exactly the same. After also reading all the stories about the ice maker repairs or replacements that left people with still broken machines, and worse, refrigerators that will not cool, we have decided not to try to get ours repaired. It’s sad that the thought that a repair could lead to a much bigger issue, leads us to just live with the ice maker that never worked right in the first place.

Our Samsung (french doors, bottom freezer) refrigerator ice maker has never worked properly. It freezes up and we use a hair dryer to thaw it out. Its so aggravating that we do not use the ice dispenser. We use the ice that falls in the freezer part and purchased a counter top ice maker. These fridges are way to expensive to have issues like such early on.

Our Samsung refrigerator will not make ice at all. It also freezes inside the back panel, which causes the motor to start making a loud knocking noise about once every 1-2 months. This causes the temp in the fridge to rise almost 20° above where we have it set. We then have to unload the fridge, pull out all shelves and drawers, remove the back panel from the inside and chip away all the ice and use a hairdryer to defrost it so we can reload it and go through the entire process again two months later. We have appliance insurance and have filed claims. The insurance company looked for two weeks and couldn’t find anyone to come service our fridge. (We live in the Minneapolis Metro area) so told us to see if we could find someone. Everywhere I called they refused to work on Samsung appliances, especially refrigerators. I was told time and time again that they “chronically break and parts are impossible to get”. I called Samsung and filed a claim directly with them. After a couple of days of them searching for a repair tech they told me they were having trouble finding someone in my area (again, Minneapolis Metro area with hundreds of thousands of people and countless appliance repair shops) and to “call back in 14 days and they would search again”…for a fridge that was sitting at about 52°!! I said so I’m just supposed to do what exactly for the next 14 days?! Just throw all my food away?? She literally said “unfortunately yes”.

So now I’m stuck with this piece of crap $2,000 fridge until we can afford a new one.

My ice maker has been repaired 3 times and has been deemed not repairable by a company called Unique Repair. It is only 3.5 years old and the first ice maker went out 6 months after purchase. They offered a refund of $1500 and I paid $2300 for it. I declined. Samsung is horrible to work with, dishonest and rude. I will Nebraskan purchase another one of their products.

I’ve had to have ice maker repaired 5 times, luckily all under the Home Depot 5 year warranty I bought. When the ice maker breaks again, (and it will) I will exercise the lemon clause and get rid of this POS.

I bought my Samsung French door with third drawer pull out in 2014. Between 2014 and 2018 I had to have the icemaker repaired three times, I finally stopped using it in 2018. I did receive the one time free icemaker repair in 2021. In 2021 the entire back panel froze, and was a sheet of ice. My refrigerator stopped cooling, and I had to pull everything out of my refrigerator turn it off and spend the next four days dethawing. Thank goodness I had a trustee 30-year-old Kenmore in my garage that’s a work horse. I had to dethaw three more times since then, each time requiring me to pull everything out of my refrigerator and freezer turn it off and let it sit for four days. The back panel is currently trying to freeze over as I write this, but I keep wiping it down hoping to buy just a few more days. I now called these the “freeze cycle.” I would like to say though that this Samsung does a stellar job maintaining an internal temp of between 41 and 43°, no matter what I set the panel temp. I feel like my family and I are playing food poisoning roulette.

YES !! I m still having problems . It is currently frozen up haven’t had ice in a very long time. I’ve had techs out 2-4-5 times. Replaced ice maker – motherboard- glass shelves- . They have used tape – caulk ? nothing fixes this frig. I have called many times in 12/2021 my warranty was about to run out & they stalled until warranty had expired. Now they say no technician in my area. It also doesn’t maintain correct temperature. I am older & have difficulty jumping thru their hoops trying to get results. I STRONGLY believe there needs to be a recall. I need a refrigerator that works.

I guess I’m lucky as I’ve only had problems with the ice maker. I purchased my refrigerator in 2016 and it never really made a lot of ice, but within a year it started making less and less ice and the ice it did make was all frosty and stuck together. Then the whole ice maker apparatus would freeze over and have to be defrosted at least monthly.

4 repairs on our icemaker so far. Also to add that our Samsung waterfall dishwasher was junked out on warranty twice. The second time it caused $4000 of damage to our floor.

I have all Samsung appliances in my kitchen when I bought my home in 2019. The French door refrigerator gives me the most trouble, especially the ice maker that freezes up so you can’t even get the door open without manually defrosting it. Then it won’t make ice and when it is working, the ice is crumbly and icy. I have to defrost it every month to prevent it from happening.

I purchased a Samsung French 2 door 2 drawer refrigerator January 2022. The ice cubes are crushed along with some whole! They are cloudy.When dispensed even with a glass under dispenser it shoots all over floor. The water is warm and after sitting it has like a thickened consistency to it. The water does not have a fresh taste to it. I am concerned for my health as I have been getting extremely bad sinus like issues. I will have the water tested. I have had Samsung service 2 times this month. They will do nothing. I have also had Home Depot and they will do nothing and I have the warranty protection from Home Depot. So disappointing.

We have a 2015 French door model that we purchased to replace a perfectly working different brand side by side that had a broken ice maker. We had been buying ice for a few years and decided it was time to purchase a new refrigerator. We have limited width space and the Samsung model fit perfectly. The ice maker started freezing up after about two years and we would thaw it out about once every two weeks. We did this for about six months and finally gave up and turned it off. Then we would get water leaking out of the dispenser onto the floor, so we turned the water to the refrigerator off completely. An online search found that the ice maker issue is common but replacing it did no good plus people then had temperature issues. We didn’t want to add that to our problems, so we have been buying ice since 2017. Ridiculous when you purchase a refrigerator to have ice. Now within the last month, we figured out that the temperature was not cold enough when we were having contents spoil quickly. We put a thermometer inside and it is over 50 degrees! No idea how long we have been eating bad food. We are seeing ice in the holes at the top which means we are getting ice build up at the back of the unit, also common. It’s ridiculous that Samsung claims they don’t have problems and more ridiculous that they find it odd that there are so many complaints all at once. People are now able to see that they aren’t alone and many many others are living the same nightmare.

I purchased a Samsung side-by-side refrigerator and the ice maker has never worked properly. I got so used to it, that I now do the “ice lean” on the side of the fridge because I know it will take a long time. It gets stuck constantly and even though we never used crushed ice, the cubed ice often comes out crushed. I purchased model RS26T5200SR on Feb 04, 2021. We have a second appointment today and hopefully they can do something about it. I fear it is just bad, bad design. Not cool Samsung, not cool.

Purchases French door Samsung in January of 2016, Ice maker in top compartment stopped working after 7 months, luckily we purchased the unit that had 2 ice makers. Bottom ice maker worked. We would have to Deicer the bottom of freezer monthly, and clean up ice under crisper drawer every month as well

I purchased a brand new Samsung refrigerator in 2019. And less than one year, the compressor was broken down. So, beside ice maker and inconsistent temperature issues, I believe Samsung refrigerator is a collection of defective parts!!

When it does work it sounds like a jack hammer is being operated in the kitchen just to drop a couple of pieces of half frozen cubes of ice. The dogs bark at it every single time they hear it. In 2020 started having issues with the icemaker freezing up I thought it out it would start back up it’s been doing this all along and this is April 12, 2022. My French door Samsung refrigerator has constant pooling of water under and into the crispers. This water ends up freezing and sheets 1/2 inch thick of ice are under the crispers. Any fruits or vegetables cannot be stored in the crispers as they freeze and I have to throw them away. I never hooked up the ice maker so the problems are not just with the ice maker. Have had service techs come and attempt to fix but last time was told it will never be fixed. Will never buy a Samsung product again.

We have the Samsung family Hub refrigerator and from the moment we got it it’s been nothing but a nightmare! It’s literally the refrigerator from frozen hell!!! Samsung customer care doesn’t care about these issues. I’ve been trying forever to get a refund for this lemon! Even had a repair all to have the same issue all over again. Now our refrigerator is set at 34° and it’s just below 50° on the inside refrigerator thermometer. I told Samsung I can provide pictures and video but all I get us “there are no issues with our refrigerators and will ONLY give a prorated refund” even though we spent THOUSANDS of dollars for a product that isn’t producing the quality like it should. We have twin toddlers that we’re scared to keep food in the refrigerator out if fear they’ll get fod poisoning! SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! I’m ready for this hell to end!

Our 2016 French for Samsung stopped making ice years ago. It will make ice if we’re chip away all of the ice build up. But we gave up and use ice trays.

My 2017 Samsung French doors with bottom freezer has been worked on 3 times. The ice maker freezes up and won’t produce ice. The first time I had to fight to get them to replace it and fight repair costs. By the 3rd time they just had a company come and replace it- not arguing. One more time and I will be requesting a monetary refund. This is a known defect and each repair person says all they do, everyday, is replace ice makers!!

Mines a 2015 and haven’t had ice since 2017 kept freezing up and won’t stay thawed to make ice. Service tech said it’s a known problem and if he fixes it again it will do the same thing over again.

My 2019 Samsung’s ice maker requires weekly defrosting. First it stops making ice then I need to take a steamer to it to remove the ice build up. It also drips water down into the pull out drawer carousing the need to remove it so it does not overflow. I was told Samsung has a leakage kit to fix the issue. Now trying to have that repaired. They replaced the ice maker and mother board today April 12,2022. Having trouble reaching my case manager but will continue to get the next repair scheduled.

We installed our french door refrigerator in December 2019. In December 2021 the ice maker warmed, melted and froze the ice into a mass. We couldn’t removed the ice bucket or get cubes from the dispenser. A repairman gave us an “upgrade” whatever that was. March 25, 2022 the same occurred and the repairman said he would order a new ice maker. We haven’t heard from him yet. In the meantime, the ice maker has stopped altogether.

This complaint is regarding an ongoing cooling issue we’ve had with a Samsung Refrigerator (Model #RF4287HARS) for the past 4 years that has gotten worse this year. The issue returned on 1/2022 and we submitted a request for repairs, and it has led to five different licensed service visits from technicians who were unsuccessful in resolving the issue. The last service visit left the refrigerator completely inoperable and leaving us without a refrigerator and spoiled food. After 4 months of patiently dealing with service technicians, we have reached a point of urgently needing a refrigerator in our home.

We called Samsung to report the refrigerator as defective and asked for some guidance for some form of compensation for loss of time, loss of service fees, loss of food, and now needing to purchase a new refrigerator. We were told that the refrigerator is out of warranty even though the issue is a common issue with Samsung refrigerators. We’re not seeking warranty coverage, but accountability for a product Samsung put a premium price tag on. After doing more research, we discovered this is a known defect in the model of refrigerator we have. Samsung says before they can assist us in taking any accountability, they have to send one of their certified technicians for diagnostics and charge us to diagnose the problem. We’re open to another diagnostic, but not interested in paying any more fees for service or diagnostic. At this point, we need a refrigerator and can’t deal with any more failed attempts of repairs, waiting on parts, canceled appointments, and no working refrigerator in my home.

We will proceed to seek compensation for our losses and now have to go at least another week before I can even purchase a new refrigerator.

My 2015 Samsung French Door just had the ice maker replaced due to constant freezing over. Now as I write this comment I am awaiting the repair man to arrive to fix the temperature issue. Cooling fN completely frozen and the inside temperature os 60 degrees. We to have suffered from food poisoning and obviously had the through away spoiled food. I have always liked Samsung and have many other products however the way they are handling this issue has me now thinking differently.

On March 8, 2022 our 2018 Top of the Line Samsung French Door Ice Maker set on fire causing thousands in damages; plastic parts fell out on the floor and burned it, the house and ceilings were all soot, which we are still trying to get resolved through our Homeowners Insurance. Samsung did refund us full price for the fridge but when it came to damages, they didn’t want to hear it. They refused to pay for food spoilage of close to $500.00 and then told us they couldn’t have an adjuster out for at least 3 weeks. The smell in our house was enough to make you gag as soon as you walked in. We finally decided Homeowners was the only way. They say they’ll go after the damages, but I’m sure we’ll never see our $1,000 Deductible back. I don’t know how they get away with this.

The issues didn’t just start happening in 2020 Samsung, your customers just finally compared notes and realized this is not an isolated incident.

I own one of these lemons! Ice maker won’t defrost on its own, has to be unplugged once every 2 weeks or so to defrost it, cool set pantry drawer has water leaking under it and freezes it shut, fridge freezes food on bottom shelf and I’ve started getting RUST on the front of the freezer part. I got the extended warranty (thank God!) and it started breaking right before the warranty was up. Had 4 service calls and just about everything on inside that can be replaced… was replaced! Their “updated” parts work just as good as the original parts, they don’t! Never again!!!

Ice maker keeps freezing up. Have to defrost at least 2 a month to get ice. Then the ice is pretty soft. Haven’t had the ice maker replaced as once that seems to be done then the fridge have temperature issues and I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole. Wish I had never bought this fridge!

I’ve had a non-functioning Samsung refrigerator in my kitchen for almost a year. No one will service them, still under warranty but I keep getting told it’s not under warranty and they cancel my service calls because I won’t give my credit card number and agree to pay for a new compressor. Months of premature food spoilage, temperature gauges said temperature was perfect! Then everything in my freezer was defrosted, big puddle on the floor and I had to throw everything out! Digital temperature on the door still said zero degrees! Ice maker never really worked properly but that’s besides the point. I’ve been trying to get this resolved for 10 months. Samsung has been awful to deal with. I’ve probably been nicer and more patient than I should have been thru their process I’ve been lied to and hung up on. Unbelievable. Good news is my stomach issues have disappeared since using my 30 year old garage refrigerator. I’ll never buy another Samsung product.

I have two of these and it has been a nightmare. Things were fine for the first couple years or so, then suddenly the water pressure slowed way down. Then we started hearing noise in the back of the fridge. Come to find out it was the fan hitting ice. Then we started getting water all over the bottom of the fridge and leaking onto the floor. Then the ice maker just quit. I have called several times and each time I was told that I would have to pay for all repairs since it was out of warranty. But people who have had the repairs done have consistently had their fridge’s temps start rising to unsafe conditions and I am afraid now to even do anything. I want rid of it, but there is also a supply shortage and prices rising. It is now 9 years old. I need new ones, but then they will never reimburse me for their defective junk that they knew was bad since 2006 and have continued to sell it yet today without fixing it. They have had bulletins out since then yet they refuse to recall them. I thought I just had bad units until I started reading about everyone else who has the same issues.

My icemaker has also been replaced and acting up again!! Also inside temp varies from 37 degrees to 42 degrees!!

Temperatures fluctuating from 37f to 40-50f. Purchased in 2015 (refrigerator, washer/dryer). Both my husband and I got food poisoning and took husband to ER and he was admitted for 2 days. No more Samsung for me!

We bought a French door SS frig in 2016. Ice maker worked a year and then quit. I decided not to seek a repair because once they are repaired then the entire frig starts having temperature problems! I am a member of the Facebook group. I hate Samsung and will NEVER buy anything else from them!

My refrigerator does not make ice ,the defrost fan is broke, Temperature monitor defective.I called Samsung and told them it was only 4 years old and they sold me a bad product and they knew it.They said ok we will cover it.They sent repair man out he said he would order parts and be back Thursday 9-1 no one came or called.I called repair co they said Samsung had canceled the order.Called Samsung the said the don’t make the parts anymore so they can’t help me.I was on the phone 3 days with Samsung and got nowhere.I am sure you know that even if you do fix my problems they do not last long before they brake again.We all know that Samsung knew about the defective refrigerators and still continue to sell them. My ice maker freezes up all the time and the water doesn’t dispense.

I have a 2018 model Samsung refrigerator after having a Kenmore that stopped cooling after 2 years. Sears gave me a full credit and I bought the Samsung. The ice maker has been non functioning since the day they installed it. Ice build up and I have to defrost it every 2-3 weeks.

I have a completely frozen upper ice compartment. It has not worked in years. My refrigerator went from an average temperature of 47 now down to 29 and everything is freezing. I called Samsung and they will only send a repairman for the icemaker free of charge even though I just had the motherboard replaced last January! This is totally unacceptable! I have spent hundreds of dollars on repairs!

We purchased a Samsung French Door Style Counter Depth Fridge in 2014 and have had nothing but issues with the ice maker and compressor which started within the first year. We finally had to move the fridge to the garage as the crisper tray was developing ice under it and would get stuck or even leak water out of the bottom of the fridge. Had to buy a new fridge…Whirlpool…it is heaven! Would NEVER purchase another Samsuck brand anything again!!

I also have the Samsung Side-by-side refrigerator. The icemaker would get an ice build up, Which stopped the ice from being dropped into the ice bucket. Now it has quit working all together, and I have to buy ice!! I’m after if I get it fixed, it will lead to other problems such as the refrigerator and freezer holding their temperature, or ice buildup in the back panel of the frig!!!

This article is exactly right, we all thought we had the only lemon, then I found the Facebook page and so many people who had the exact same issue. Had it “fixed” three times under warranty and then Samsung stalled on communication until the warranty expired. They are a terrible company who will not stand behind their product.

My Samsung fridge had to be moved to the garage because it leaked water and I didn’t want to ruin my floors. A layer of ice was continually freezing under the crisper and as said before it leaked water onto the floor. Samsung didn’t care when I contacted them. They know they have defective refrigerators and won’t take accountability. It wasn’t until I got a new fridge (definitely not a Samsung) that I saw how poorly my Samsung kept the temp. My sour cream is now the right consistency and no longer runny. Lucky we didn’t get really sick!

My French door Samsung was purchased in 2018. Instantly had issues with water coming out of the ice maker before I would get ice. A couple years later the ice maker was freezing on a regular basis and I grew tired of defrosting it. I had to argue with Samsung as I was outside the original warranty. They agreed to repair the ice maker with a one time courtesy service call. Did t fix it though, despite replacing a bunch of parts. Now, it either leaks water out of the use maker or is frozen up. Neither is good. They have refused to address the repair and say that I must pay.

I have a Samsung refrigerator. I started having problems with the ice maker not working a little over a year after purchase. Not only did the ice maker quit working, I had water that leaked all over my floors along with ice accumulation under the deli drawer. I called Samsung in 2014 to report my problem. The Samsung customer service rep told me there were no known problems with the ice maker and that I was on my own for ice maker repairs. We used bagged ice for a while then decided to pay to have the ice maker repaired. The ice maker went out 3 more times and we paid for the repairs. Samsung provided one free accommodation repair in November 2021. I joined Samsung Refrigerator Recall USA Now in January 2021. Because of the group I found out that Samsung KNEW of the defective ice maker in 2006 but yet continued to install the ice makers in the refrigerators. There are Samsung service bulletins from 2006 to back up this claim. I was LIED to in 2014 when I called to report my non-working ice maker, ice buildup under deli drawer, and water leaking on the floor. I have documentation of the phone call and the person’s name that I talked to. I have been in conversation with Samsung since January 2021 for a refund (Over 52 documented tickets numbers and names of customer service reps that I spoke with), but they are not taking responsibility for the misinformation that was given to me in 2014. I have paid over 1100.00 for repairs that should have been paid by Samsung in 2014. Currently my refrigerator does not keep save temperatures inside of the refrigerator, resulting in food and medication spoilage. We have had stomach issues more than once before discovering the UNSAFE temperatures. Now the only things I can keep in the refrigerator are water and cold drinks. Samsung’s response is to give me 185.00 in for a refund….they are nuts if they think this is a fair solution. I will continue for fight for a full refund and reimbursement for the ice maker repairs. I will add Samsung has the WORST customer service. They lie and make up the worst excuses for not doing with is right and ethical in the refund process. I will NEVER purchase anything with the Samsung name on it because the way they have treated me and the over 104.9K members of Samsung Refrigerator Recall USA Now FB group.

My Samsung 4 door flex refrigerator is 3.5 years old and the ice maker has not worked in over 3 years. I had 2 service calls the first year because it constantly froze solid. Both services made it worse and water leaked all over my floor. I’ve lived without ice since then and hesitant to allow another ‘fix’ after hearing many stories of temperature issues after an ice maker and motherboard replacement. I’ve also had issues with my gas range and microwave – I will never buy anything Samsung ever again!

I have a Samsung refrigerator rf261beaesr that won’t keep a safe temperature the back panel freezes up and temperature rises into the 60’s, I have contacted them over and over knowing that they have a service bulletin out about this defect but they want me to pay for a service call. I have a Samsung refrigerator. One day after work I come home and all my food is spoiled. I’m not sure how but the refrigerators food was hot and the freezer was full of water and spoiled hot meats! I called Samsung to ask them why this happened and they said maybe someone changed the settings! I lived alone no one touched anything. It happened a 2nd time but this time I was home in time to catch it. Right now my freezer is full of ice! Why? Who knows it’s frozen and nothing is leaking.

Please include me! I have been fighting a Samsung refrigerator for a year now. Bought new and won’t get cold. Also Samsung denied my claim for warranty. Such a joke of a company. Stick to cellphones.

Yes! This is the worse fridge ever! The doors do not stay sealed. Meaning the magnetic strip does not keep a tight hold. Both doors freezer and ice box section comes open just enough to where the light does not come on or the alarm does not sound. Causing the temperature to change and everything goes bad faster than it should! The freezer starts to defrost And/or creates that frost to build up. Ice machine sucks too.
